Welcome!

Welcome to Film Central! This is my first attempt at making a blog, and it is mostly for fun and practice. My passion is film so that is what I will be covering! I really like box office, and have been tracking it since 2009. I always make predictions before every weekend, so I figured I might as well publish them. My plan is to make predictions on Thursdays, and recap and analysis on Sundays after studio estimates come in. I may also do occasional long range or monthly forecasts as well.

I will also be tracking the Oscar race. I absolutely love following the Oscars all year, and making my final predictions is something I look forward to every year. I have been obsessed with this since the 2010 ceremony, where I predicted 23 out of 24 winners (Curse you, Best Animated Short Film winner Logorama!). Now I want to go into more depth, so I will analyze the odds of different movies, and the rankings of different categories, throughout the season. It will be interesting to see how the race evolves over the year, see what rises and what falls, and what breaks out or crashes.

Finally, I will post the occasional film review as I see them. Since this isn’t my full time job, I don’t see everything, and definitely not right away. But I will post them as I can, even if they are brief. I will definitely do a Top 10 list at the end of the year, and I may publish my previous Top 10 lists as well.
